Yum-yum Dim Sum dinner
Time to enjoy that Cantonese treat: Dim Sum (飲茶), or yin cha as they say in Mandarin.
Our dinner party, at the Plum Blossom Room in the Brother Hotel
Shao Mai (燒賣) -- steamed ground pork wraps
Gan Chao Niu He (干炒牛河): stir-fried rice noodle with beef
Hao You Jie Lan (蠔油芥藍) -- Chinese broccoli with mushrooms and oyster sauce
Xia Ren Chang Fen (蝦仁腸粉): shrimps wrapped in rice noodle
Cha Shao Su (叉燒酥): BBQ pork pastry
Luo Bo Gau (蘿蔔糕): pan-fried radish cakes
Zhi Ma Qiu (芝麻球): Glutinous rice balls with sesame, stuffed with sweet red bean paste
Funny faces in the tea pot看到那三張好笑的嘴巴嗎? Gareth

Fiona's second 1 year old birthday party
Fiona's 2 cousins love her a lot!
What are they doing? What's wrong with mummy's mouth?
Fiona accidently licked the plastic knife after cutting the chocolate cake, and she refused to put it down.
OS: Why did mummy never feed me this before?

Friday, November 3rd, 2006: Fiona's first birthday
Fiona's first birthday! We celebrated with a little party at home, just the three of us
Fiona wearing her nice matching dress, socks and barette. This outfit was bought by Grandma over the summer
Cake time! A little cake for a little person
Actually it's not even a cake, but a cup of pudding. Now we sing the Happy Birthday Song
Fiona needs Mummy's help to blow out the candle
Time to open the presents: First, a whole stack o' books
Mummy reads "The Tortoise and the Hare" in Chinese
Gift from Grandpa! A Chinese dress, also known as a qipao (say "chee-pow")
The dress is a hit. It will probably be a best fit after another few months
With Daddy's gift: a real silver brush and comb set
